EUGENIO VENTURINO: THE TALE OF A SENSORIAL JOURNEY

Barbera grapes, outstanding beauty.

For us Barbera d’Asti grapes are something truly important. Thanks to this grapes vigorous and resistant nature, it regularly produces abundant fruit. Compared to other red grapes in the zone, it has no particular needs in terms of soil or exposure, seeing as it does not require much green pruning, as it naturally balances the development of fruit and leaves.

What makes our Barbera so special?

As it offers such strong adaptability, it is logical that the best sites are then used for other varieties like Nebbiolo, while Barbera vines are planted on other slopes.

Our vineyards, instead, in our zone of Asti, occupy the best positions, thereby guaranteeing excellent growth of the clusters and the quality of our wines.

Cortese grapes, refined freshness

It can be said the Upper Monferrato in the region of Piedmont is the true home of Cortese, where it is still widely cultivated in spite of a drop in the number of hectares during the 1980s.

From our Cortese vines we obtain wines of excellent quality, thanks to its outstanding elegance and balance.

This is true of the younger and fresher versions, as well as those subjected to prolonged ageing in the bottle, which enhances the wine with personality and complexity.

Its most important characteristic is its ability to maintain high levels of acidity, even during very hot years.
